Three Cheers for Chick-Fil-A

A wonderful phenomenon is occurring at Chick-Fil-A restaurants across the country.  Large crowds of people are patronizing this chain to show their support for this restaurant's unswerving defense of traditional marriage and moral values.  Founded in Georgia some five decades ago, Chick-Fil-A has always been an explicitly Christian company whose restaurants are closed on Sunday to observe the Sabbath.  Recently, the company's leader reaffirmed his support for traditional marriage in a Baptist periodical and the homosexual community worked themselves up into a dander.  Leftist mayors from Washington, DC, Chicago, and Boston suddenly declared Chick-Fil-A to be hatemongers and said they weren't welcome in their communities.  Chicago's mayor Rahm Emanuel is a particular piece of work having served in Bill Clinton and Barack Obama's White Houses where he must have developed an appreciation for the political benefits of embracing sexually perverse constituencies and at some time decided to embrace Psalm 12:8 as his political raison d'être.

It's so amusing and hypocritical to hear proponents of the homosexual lifestyle proclaim that they are gay and seek to promote diversity and tolerance.  The term gay is such a misnomer since these individuals and their groups often tend to be extremely miserable and seek to bully and coerce others to accept the lifestyle they have chosen to embrace.  No one forces individuals to eat at Chick-Fil-A or any other restaurant and it would be a sign of America's moral and constitutional downfall, if local economic development decisions are made by requiring businesses to adhere to local ideological or cultural agendas.

Last Friday, while traveling near Dayton, OH, my wife and I stopped for lunch at a Chick-Fil-A.  The drive through line was backed up with several cars but moved quickly with German efficiency.  We ate inside and were served in a few minutes and enjoyed a delicious meal before continuing on our journey.  The tables inside the were filled with  happy customers of multiple races and potentially multiple political and religious beliefs.  This episode is yet another example of the belligerent bullying of homosexual activists and will hopefully cause more Americans to see what this group desires to achieve.  It should also encourage Black Americans who support traditional marriage and moral values to realize that they no longer have a home in the Democratic Party since that party's convention platform committee seems prepared to include an explicit plank endorsing same sex marriage into their convention platform in Charlotte.

I hope Chick-Fil-A makes a ton of money out of this and continues glorifying Christ through their work.  Finally, I hope local communities make efforts to attract Chick-Fil-A to enrich their culinary and moral development, adopt resolutions of appreciation to this restaurant, and require local GLBT organizations to exclusively use Chick-Fil-A to cater their events.
