Sarah Palin's acceptance speech last night was awesome! She ably described the values she lives by and how she would seek to implement those values into governmental policy. Her speech demonstrated that she has a solid mastery of the problems affecting policymaking in Washington and was particularly effective in skewering Harry Reid as the personification of so many of those problems. She also demonstrated a strong grasp of energy's economic and strategic importance that is far superior to anything Obama and Biden are intellectually capable of grasping. For instance, Joe Biden was one of the five Senators in the early 70s who voted against construction of the Alaska pipeline. Palin also denounced the scurrilous liberal media attacks against her and her daughter because she does not adhere to the abortionist and secularist worldview they consider proper for women entering the political arena.
In addition, she demonstrated a feisty resolve that was Thatcherian in its intensity and left no doubt that she has the intellectual capacity, communication skills, and moral courage necessary to assume presidential responsibilities if that becomes necessary. I am particularly looking forward to seeing her debate Joe Biden in four weeks. She will more than hold her own against plagiarizing Delaware blowhard.
While she will have to endure a lot of crap from the liberal media, I'm confident her faith, grit, and learning abilities will enable her to grow in confidence and her knowledge of governmental issues and frustrate the attempts of the media and liberal feminists to portray her as being "unqualified" for the presidency. Last night's speech was a thunderous refutation to her imbecilic critics and a demonstration that a new star has appeared in conservative politics and in the American political constellation.
