Palin's Selection!

Count me in as a conservative who is fairly excited about McCain's selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as GOP Vice-Presidential candidate!  Palin has a compelling personal story and comes across as an extremely genuine person whose life story will resonate with many people.  She is a solid social conservative, has a strong understanding of energy issues, and a demonstrated record has a reform minded conservative who has battled entrenched political forces within Alaska.  The only discordant note in her speech to the Dayton rally today was referring to the "glass ceiling" which is a bit of leftist feminist rhetoric she should avoid in future speeches.  She will need some additional tutoring in foreign affairs issues to go up against Biden, but I'm confident she'll be a quick study.  In fact, I'm looking forward to seeing her put Biden in his place when they debate.  She has been called "Sarah Barracuda" and I think she won't tolerate any bs from Biden.

Two particularly important points must be made about Palin's selection.  First, this will help reassure most Conservatives that McCain cares about our issues and is committed to implementing many conservative principles into his public policy including fiscal conservatism and governmental ethical reform.  The second, and most important point, is that it demonstrates to women that if they want to achieve real political power and maximum personal achievement that this is best accomplished by supporting conservative political and governmental principles.  Republicans treat women as individuals with unique God-given talents who can enrich the political and governmental process through their abilities.  Republicans recognize that individuals, instead of the government, enrich their communities, states, and nations.  Democrats, in contrast, treat women as pathetic victims who need constant governmental support to achieve personal goals. Democrats believe that increasing women's dependence on governmental structures is the way to maintain their political power base.  In contrast, Republicans seek to empower all individuals and their families regardless of their race, religious beliefs, or gender.

Palin will undergo intense scrutiny these next few months.  We can only hope and pray she's tough and resilient enough to weather the assaults against her from the Democrats and the liberal media.  Her compelling personal story should help her immensely as will her religious faith.  Sarah Palin has more credible leadership experience to be commander-in-chief than Barack Obama and far more wisdom.
Palin should emulate the example of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.  An analysis of Thatcher said that some women politicians act like women and expect to be treated like women while other women politicans act like men but expect to be treated like women.  This assessment went on to mention that Margaret Thatcher acted like a man and expected to be treated like a man.  Hopefully, Sarah Palin will be inspired by Thatcher's example and conduct herself accordingly.  She has already made history and stands a credible chance to become America's first female Vice-President.  McCain's selection of her could be a critical factor if we are to be spared from a Barack Obama-Joe Biden Administration.
